Our faculty is comprised of experienced instructors from the HfS Ernst Busch’s drama department as well as professionals from various branches of Germany’s diverse culture and media industry. Our three and a half year full time acting programme provides alumni with a solid foundation for a career in the performing arts including the “Bühnenreife “ certificate, an equivalent to the AOS. Each class has a methodological focus, culminating in a minimum of 22 hours per week of classes in major topics. After completion of the first semester additional classes as well as scene studies will be part of your curriculum.

We’ve got your back when it comes to supporting you in the pursuit of your professional dream. Our philosophy stands for excellence in theoretical knowledge, practical experience and catering each young performer’s individual needs.

1st Semester:
The first semester focusses on basic acting skills. We create the building blocks in voice, body, and movement development for the next level of training. Additional classes include acrobatics and music as choreography and mime.
2nd and 3rd Semester:
During the second semester students are exposed to scene studies for the first time, culminating in a public performance at the conclusion of each scene study. Additional classes include music, mime, acrobatics and choreography. After the third semester students will sit their interim exams.
4th through 6th Semester:
Semesters four through six will add camera work and film theory to their curriculum. The courses will conclude with practical film work under every student’s belt. Additional classes include voice over and dubbing techniques, vocal production, music, physical theatre and acrobatics. Additional scene studies and studio productions will round off your experience.
7th Semester:
The seventh and last semester will help each student deepen their understanding of scene study. It will also see students developing their monologues in preparation for their graduation.
Each year of classes has 45 holidays (two weeks around Easter, six weeks during the summer as well as two weeks at the turn of the year). There are no classes on public holidays.
At the end of the three and a half year studies the alumni will receive a certificate, identifying them as actors for the stage and screen.
This certificate qualifies successful alumni to audition for the government.run “Zentrale Auslands- und Fachvermittlung (ZAV)”. Being accepted in to the ZAV is the German equivalent to getting your equity card.
